Supervision & Consultation in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT)
EFCT CONSULTATION AND SUPERVISION
You’ve come this far- now let’s take it to the next level.
I provide Supervision and Consultation for both seasoned and new psychotherapists. I am recognized as a Certified EFT (EFCT) Supervisor with ICEEFT and am passionate about supporting like-minded therapists who are wanting to gain competency and build confidence in the EFT model. I also work with clinicians who are interested in pursuing EFCT certification.
- I bring in both structure (so you know the model inside and out) and flexibility (so you can still be yourself as a therapist).
- I focus not only on skills, but also on your emotional process as a therapist — because your presence is just as important as the interventions.
- I don’t just give feedback — I collaborate with you. Together we look at what’s happening in session and what feels hard, so you leave supervision with clarity and confidence.
EFT Consultation and Supervision consists of reviewing your work with couples, diving into experiential exercises, while we focus on expanding your knowledge of the EFT model. If you are an experienced therapist, we will work toward fine-tuning your skills as you continue to integrate core EFT techniques, interventions, and principles into your practice.
As a Certified EFT Supervisor, I care about emotional safety. I want my consultees to feel my warmth, humility, empathy, and engagement as a supervisor. I realize that growing in the EFT model is a vulnerable, lengthy, and complex journey. I am here to walk alongside you- to be a secure-base.
Whether you are seeing me for group or individual EFT Supervision/Consultation, we will work both collaboratively and intentionally. I want our time together to feel empowering, thoughtful, and helpful. I want you to walk away with a clear picture and plan for your cases.
The purpose of Supervision/Consultation is to develop your skills as an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFCT) for the treatment of relational distress (aka, insecure attachment bonds).
Let’s create a space for you to show-up authentically. It’s important that you maintain both your personal therapeutic style and your learner’s mindset throughout the process. I will be here with you every step of the way- cheering you on. Diving into the work can feel quite vulnerable (I’ve been there; and spoiler alert, it still feels vulnerable to show my work), so we may lean into the meta-processing of your experiences (e.g. what was that like for you?/ what’s it like for you right now?).
Together, we will:
- Explore and understand both clinical choice points as well as the couple’s cycle
- Engage in case conceptualization, EFT treatment planning, and video review
- Track, attune, and learn to use attachment language with your couples (aka, attachifying)
- Consider and explore any Self-of-the-Therapist pieces that may impact your work with couples
- Learn to follow and regulate clients’ emotion when it’s alive in the room
- Practice going deeper- to the the inside and to the in-between process
- Learn how to facilitate a corrective emotional experience or bonding moment between partners
- Explore any personal impasses or barriers to attuning with clients
- Learn to attune, track, access, and expand attachment themes and affect
- Integrate and set clear intentions and goals for our time together
- Gain a deeper understanding of attachment theory and EFT
- Track and engage with the present process when working with couples
- Explore and deepen the area of focus, often making it experiential in nature
- Learn to use pacing, RISSSC, and the moves of the EFT Tango
- Understand the steps and stages of the EFT model- know where you are, where you’re going, and why
- Consider and better understand Pursue/Withdraw strategies, adaptations, and intentions

Forever in Process: My Love Affair with EFT (bloopers, Tapes, and grit)
I’ve been steeped in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) since 2010, when I began my work at the TRI-EFT clinic in San Diego—and I haven’t looked back (except for the many hours spent rewatching session tapes in service of growth and clarity). Over the past 15 years, I’ve participated in more advanced EFT trainings than I can reasonably count, carefully studied my clinical work, and engaged in supervision-of-supervision groups where I’ve learned, stretched, and occasionally cringed (in the best way). I approach this work with deep care, humility, and reverence for the process—and while I take the work seriously, I try not to take myself too seriously. I’m a lifelong learner—always evolving, and always up for the next level of learning.
